Exodus 16:4-5 (NKJV)
4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My law or not. 5 And it shall be on the sixth day that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.”
The Israelites had to gather the bread for each day and only enough for the day. If they tried to keep it for the next day it would go off.
We need to have our portion of the Word of God, the Bible each day to see us through that day. It is important to have fresh food for each day and not live on the past. If we do this we will have all we need to face the challenges of the day.
It is essential for us to ask the Lord for our daily bread for our physical needs, emotional needs and spiritual needs. Every day is a fresh day, yesterday is gone! We can’t do anything to change what happened then, but we can prepare for today.
Before you start the day, seek the Lord and ask Him for your daily bread and spend time in the Word and let Him fill you with all you need for that day!
