The message of Easter is that Jesus is alive! We celebrate this fact at Easter time.
On Good Friday we remember that Jesus gave His life for us on the cross and took our place so that we could be free from our past, our sin, condemnation, sickness and hopelessness.
He died in our place. This showed us how great His love for us is. He loved us so much that He went through the pain, shame and suffering of the cross so that we could be set free. He understands when we go through suffering. He knows what it is like when we go through rejection. He knows what it is like to be abandoned, forsaken and left alone. He understands what it is like to have to fight to keep your mind clear and free from thoughts that want to rule our lives.
He went through this life so that He does understand.
Then when He said “It is finished” on the cross and He knew He had paid for our sins, He died and was buried in a tomb.
Then on Easter Sunday morning the disciples discovered He had risen as He said He would do.
This gave them hope and realisation that what Jesus had said to them whilst here on earth with them had been the truth and that they could now trust His Word. They experienced God’s Grace. Grace is God’s underserved favour toward us, His crazy love for us. It allows lets us come back into relationship with God because Jesus paid for our sins and when we ask Him to forgive us and accept His grace we are clean before Him. He sees us through what Jesus has done and not for what we have done.
We now can also trust His word, which is given to us by many people who wrote what we call the Bible. This is an amazing book of collections of people’s experience with the One True God and His love for all of mankind.
This Easter I pray that you will come to know this amazing person of Jesus Christ and His love for you.
